The Adventures of Daisy Dorall: Chapter 3

Dear Readers, I’m sorry that I have not posted in so long. If you need some refreshment on Chapter 2, click here.

Narrowing my eyes, I stared at him. “I don’t believe in God.”

After a moment of silence, I continued, “And if He was real, He wouldn’t let my dad die. Or my mom, or my uncle who I never got to meet. But God isn’t real, so it doesn’t matter.”

Timmy took a deep breath, studying my tear-stained face. Praying silently, he kept his eyes on the road.

Angrier than ever, I blurted out, “But maybe you don’t understand all of that!”

Timmy sighed, wishing he knew what to say. Finally he got the courage to speak up.

“Daisy?”

“What?” I growled.

“I’m your uncle.”

“No. You can’t be.”

“Honestly! Do you really think that Sarah would leave you with a guy you just met, and send you off to a place you’ve never been?” Mr. Timmy asked.

“I didn’t think about that,” I admitted, suddenly feeling very brainless. “But my uncle’s name was….”

“Timothy?”

Surprised, I nodded. “Uh-yeah, but your name is Timmy.”

“Timmy is short for Timothy,” my guide said, a smile sliding across his face.

A moment of silence passed, my mind racing to find an excuse. But there was nothing else I could think of to say.

And at that moment, I knew I had to face the facts. This guy sitting next to me? He wasn’t just a random travel guide. He was my uncle. My lost uncle who I had never met before in my whole, entire life. My only relative.

And there was so much I wanted to ask him.

To be continued…

  1. Mike Adamson says:

So, I wonder why she had heard about him but never met him? And why did Sarah know about him? What was going on behind the scenes in this family?
